Nokta Makro seems to be the second hobby metal detectors manufacturer (after Minelab) that started offering updatable software for their products. Early, updatable software was a novelty and an advanced feature. Nokta Makro and Minelab raised the bar for the whole industry, making updatable software a must-have. Other brands are not very happy, but metal detectorists are! One of the main issues with Nokta Makro Simplex was that the machine had firmware software only for Windows OS. Users of Mac have asked the manufacturer many times when, if ever, should they expect the sun shining on their street as well. Nokta Makro could not promise anything in particular, perhaps because of the global situation, among other things. However, this brand actually does listen to their customers, and eventually, we were informed that the future (!) Nokta Makro metal detectors will have software for firmware updates on macOS! So, treasure hunting fans of Nokta Makro can be happy now. This news is a great example of a manufacturer meeting the real needs of its customers. Michael Moore 1 year ago
