Minelab Equinox 600 and Equinox 800 can now be upgraded due to a new software update released by the brand. The code of the update is V3 – just to make sure you follow the trends. If you have not updated your machine by now, don’t bother using the previous software variation, because the new one has many bugs fixed. Enhanced Features The main novelty of the update is, of course, another frequency added to the list of operating frequencies. Previously, Equinoxes had 5, 10, 15, 20, and 40 kHz options for metal detecting. The new frequency is 4 kHz, or even a bit lower, as field tests show. Other features include: bugs fixed quick discharging fixed performance of the machine is stabilized Final Thoughts While many users of Equinoxes scratch their heads about why would the brand add 4 kHz if they already have a frequency of 5 kHz, the company claims that 4 kHz works better with large deep targets, “particularly those found in parts of Asia”. Perhaps the brand has analyzed the target audience in parts of Asia and decided to make an update for them specifically. Anyways, we have to test the update and see how it works.
