Garrett has recently released two new search coils – Garrett 5×8 Ripper Multi-Flex DD & Garrett 8.5×11 Raider Multi-Flex DD – for its ACE Apex metal detector. Both coils support multifrequency. While this seems reasonable, in fact, one of the coil manufacturers has already released a series of additional compatible coils for this metal detector; moreover, another company has announced their own new series of coils for ACE Apex. So, if to dig deeper, it is not clear why Garrett even bothered making new coils. However, there is a catch. Because of the news about Garrett buying Whites, there are rumors that these new additional search coils were created not only for ACE Apex.
